Wheel Building Week #1

Our wheel building class will span 2 weeks. You will have the option to buy rim, hubs and spokes or bring in parts you may already have. You do not need to make a purchase in order to take part in the class. If you do plan to order parts you will have to have an order placed 2 weeks prior to the class to insure we will have the parts. Week one will cover lacing spokes.

Drivetrain

The largest integrated mechanical system on your bicycle. The drivetrain is both not really that complicated, and more nuanced than you think. This class has some in depth tech for people wanting to further their mechanical understanding of their bike. Topics covered; rear derailleur adjustment, front derailleur adjustment, chain install and maintenance, and troubleshooting drivetrain problems.

Suspension

Forks and shocks on today’s mountain bikes are highly sophisticated and require service more often than most people think. RockShox recommends first service at 50 hours of use and Fox recommends first service at 30 hours for both forks and shocks. In this class we will be covering lower leg service for current suspension forks and the air can service for shocks. Come learn some new skills to help you better care for your mountain bike.
